Jakarta, pantausidang — Food security and agriculture office (Dispangtan) of Serang regency in Banten province encourage the farmers, fishers, family farms to enroll in the social security program (BPJS) of employment, that they are exempt from paying the subscription for three months, and then they have to stand on their own feet, by making payment every month.

BPJS employment provides farmers with the benefits, that the heirs earn cash in the event of their accidental death either sudden and unexpected such as fatal falls, drownings, etc.

“The condition (of farmers) here in Serang, is still a big problem that they have doubts about BPJS enrollment. They just pay Rp 16.800 (sixteen thousand, eight hundred) per month.”

” We still have to try to provoke them in a good way to enroll in BPJS, by exempting the payment.”

” But the exemption is provided for the time being, just for the (farmer) cooperatives coordinators.”

” Next, we will provide exemption for all members of cooperatives in Serang,” said the head of Dispangtan Suhardjo.

BPJS of employment is a social protection program for all workers in Indonesia, both formal and freelance.
